‘MUDDA–2022’ at JMIS

“It is not he who gains the exact point in dispute or who scores most in controversy, but he who has shown the most forbearance and better temper.” JMIS endeavours to create optimal learning environment for children where effective communication skills and lateral thinking are emphasized. With the same perspective, the school hosted  an Inter –School Debate Competition, “Mudda” for the students of classes IX- XII on November 26, 2022. Thirty-four schools from all over Delhi participated in the event. The motion of the debate was – ‘Is climate change already irreversible’? The debate session was graced by judges Ms. Vandana Tandon, a counsellor who has conducted over 6000  workshops in the field of career guidance, story telling, public speaking, debating skills and theatre and Ms.Sneha Bhura, a journal writer on arts, culture and education in ‘The
Week’ magazine in Delhi. The esteemed guests were duly welcomed and honoured before starting the programme with a welcome song by the school choir. Orators from each school debated extremely well in favour and against the motion. The guests of honour appreciated the enthusiasm and awareness of each participant. They were delighted to be a part of “Mudda- 2022” and said that, “The ability to debate, share opinions will help mankind and create awareness that will ensure a better future”. The sagacious Principal, Dr.Amita Saxena was enthralled with the zeal and efforts of the students. She motivated the participants by saying that their efforts and spirit can work like magic in enhancing their performance ahead. Such kind of appreciation not only boosts the morale of students but also helps them to gather courage for taking up bigger challenges in life. 
The participants who emerged victorious at the Inter School Debate Competition are as follows:

JM International School Sports day, Spardha scattered shades of sportsmanship Winners never quit and quitters never win. Sports do not build character. They reveal it. JM International School celebrated its Annual Sports Day, Spardha on 19th Nov 22' amidst a lot of fun. The month of November is earmarked for the occasion, as, at this time, the weather is pleasant for outdoor activities. JM International School believes in developing a territory for the students to learn a sport, compete and progress in the field. The school stimulates sportsmanship by numerous fitness activities, physical fitness classes,
and sports activities that are a part of the school curriculum. The hon’ble Guests gracing Spardha were Ms. Richa Sood, District President of the Kho Kho, Carrom, and Karate Federations, Director Mr. Yogesh Gupta and Rohit Gupta, and Dr. Amita Saxena, Principal of JM International School, Dwarka presided over the event. The programme began with release of balloons by the dignitaries to commence with the events. Spardha- Annual Sports day is one of the most loved events of the year and children look forward to it. A well- synchronized March Past by the four House Contingents of the Senior Wing students was conducted first. Thereafter the Sports captain administered the Oath to the student council members.The fascinating aspect of the event was the field display, based on the 
significance of sports. It spread vibrance on the field. Aerobic drill by middle classes was a mesmerizing performance. Along with this was the well- coordinated skating show which enchanted everyone with its rhythmical movements. There were flat races, relays and recreational races for students of Grades III to XII, displaying their vigor and sportsmanship. The teachers also got an opportunity to prove that age is no bar for running and winning on the tracks. All in all, it was a thrilling experience for children. The winners felt proud to receive appreciation in the form of medals and certificates. 

JM International School hosted an interactive “Career Fair” on 17 November, 2022 for Grades XI –XII. Students from neighboring schools also attended it. Representatives of various International and National Universities took part in this Career Fair.

The event commenced with the inaugural visit and interactive session by school Principal Dr Amita Saxena and team of teachers from host school with their students. Dr Saxena mentioned the importance of this sort of exposure and was glad that students now have a wider world to explore. She emphasized on the idea of nurturing the vision for building a strong foundation for the youth of the country. This was followed by class wise interactive sessions of students with the representatives from the various institutions. Students took interest in knowing the scope of different subjects and learnt about the vast multitude of opportunities available today.

There were numerous professionals from various renowned institutions: Saint Louis University, Ashoka University, SRM, IIHM, ICSI, IILM. PEARL, Amrita University etc. The university representatives informed the students about various processes regarding exams and admissions.  

The event, proved to be an enriching experience for all who attended.

Like every year, J.M International organised an excursion to Lohagarh farms.These excursions are an important part of our educational system. It was an excursion full of fun and enjoyment. Students got a  chance to learn, in a different environment, they understood how to become self- sufficient. The students also learnt to adjust to every situation and to look after their belongings. They boarded the bus and reached the destination ( Lohagarh Farms ) where students enjoyed various activities like camel ridding, rope train, tyre climbing etc. They ate sumptuous breakfast and lunch is provided to there. They all enjoyed the excursion and learnt to be patient, cooperative and friendly.

AAKASHGANGA

The students of classes VI - VIII celebrated Astronomy Day as Aakash Ganga.Diifferent activities were organised to bring our galaxy in classroom.Class VI participated in clay modeling activity in which they prepared models of galaxies with clay.Class VII prepared a Geoboard in which they prepared a constellation of their own and tied the galaxy with rubber bands.Class VIII brought their dynamic constellations in lightning jars using Aluminium sheets.At the end an exhibition was set up for showcasing the hands of learning done by the students of grades III - VIII.The students enjoyed the activities and participated with high spirit.
