The importance of forests is thus very rightly captured by Franklin D Roosevelt, who said that "A nation that destroys its soils destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people".
To nurture mother Earth, J.M.International school, Dwarka celebrated Van Mahotsav enthusiastically in an environment friendly way on 7th july in the school premises.
Van Mahotsav is a tree plantation festival that was started way back in 1950 by the Union Minister for Agriculture and Food, Mr. KM Munshi.
The Principal, J.M international school, Dwarka, Dr. Amita Saxena has gradually infused the love for environment and instilled zeal among the JMIS community to grow more trees. Group of primary school students participated in a plantation drive organised by the school. Saplings of different plants were potted under the guidance of respective class teachers and school gardener in the presence of the Principal. This drive very well signified the proverb ‘Each one, Teach one, How to plant one!
