Umang – 2024-25: Tenali Rama

J.M International School, Dwarka celebrated its Annual Theatre Festival – UMANG for Grade II on August 24, 2024, with great enthusiasm and artistic fervour. The event commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony by our esteemed Chief Guest Mr. Naresh Shandilya (Distinguished poet, , Street theatre artist, critic, and editor) along with the School Directors Mr. Yogesh Gupta, Mr. Rohit Gupta, and the Principal Dr. Amita Saxena.
The show started with an action song performed enthusiastically on `Happy` song wherein the students spread the light of joy and positivity.
In her welcome address Principal Dr. Amita Saxena shared the initiatives taken by JMIS, in nurturing the students for their overall development. The theatre fest, UMANG has been initiated for the young students to get exposure of creativity and collaboration through theatre-in-education.
The enthusiastic students continued the show with public speaking in which they recited few poems and stories. The main attraction of the event was a remarkable skit adaptation of the classic tale of “Tenali Raman”. The skit was meticulously crafted and the budding actors of Grade II brought the characters to life.
The energetic and captivating performances by students showcased their diverse talents of speaking, acting, singing and dancing. The skit's compelling storytelling and the actors' dedicated performances kept everyone spellbound.
Umang-II 2024, was a resounding success. It not only showcased the exceptional talent of the school's students but also emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting India's cultural heritage. This event serves as a testament to the school's commitment to nurturing creativity, talent, and cultural awareness among its students, making it a memorable and enriching experience for all in attendance.
