    Earth Day Celebration 2023-24

EARTH DAY is celebrated around the world with a beautiful message - “Our continuing efforts in our everyday lives will make this beautiful planet thrive.”

Earth Day is an initiation that even one person can make a global impact in a positive way. Echoing the same, J M International School celebrated “The Earth Day” through a series of activities on April 21, 2023. The students were reminded of simple do-able actions towards our Mother Earth. An array of creative crafts were organized with a view to sensitize the children about the conservation of natural resources and to motivate them to make our planet more beautiful.

Our Environmental conservationists from Ankur to Grade 2 participated in them with zeal and enthusiasm. On this occasion, teachers showed videos/films about ‘Mother Nature’, held discussion about habits like switching off electrical appliances when not in use and throwing litter in the bins, keeping our surrounding clean etc. children were advised to adopt a tree and plant their saplings in pots. They also indulged in a craft activity tearing and pasting and hand printing with different environmental themes. The tiny tots enthusiastically took an oath on the Earth Day to keep their environment clean and plant more trees.

“Many students love music and dance, and research indicates that learning through music and structured movement is good educational practice.” Students' did yoga poses like palm tree, mountain pose etc. on soft rhythmic intonations to deepen their enjoyment of the learning experience. Our little learners were actively involved in the entire teaching-learning process.

          Greet and Meet Activity

          Date : 3 rd April 2022
          Venue: JMIS School
          Classes: Ankur – IX

Activities help children to learn new things in a fun way. With that in mind, we at JMIS consider that the first day of school for students should be an everlasting experience. Greet and meet activity is a way in which the teachers introduce themselves in the class followed by the student’s introduction. Various fun activities like, Grade Ankur ‘we are the hoppers’ along with ‘Seize it forever’, Grade Pallav ‘Position and Say Hello’and ‘Smiley Welcome Cool’.

In Grade I & II ‘Dumb Charades’, ‘Colouring Sheets’, ‘All about Me’ (Stick Puppet) activities were done as the ice breaking sessions. Grade III, IV & V did ‘Find A Friend’, ‘Interesting Me’, ‘Think & Share’, in which the students wrote their likings, introduced themselves with adjectives and wrote their strengths.

Students of classes VI and VII did ‘People Hunt’ and ‘Thanks for the compliment’ on their first day. Grade VIII & IX students did ‘Tall Thomas’ and ‘Letter to yourself’ as their greet and meet activity wherein they described themselves with words beginning with the first letter of their names and others to guessed the name of the child. All these activities were focused on introduction, social playtime and designed to help students become comfortable with their new classmates. They helped to get students talking and set the tone for a successful classroom management for the upcoming year ahead.
